Angel Phantom Quartz contains all the generic properties of Quartz. It is also known as Amphibole Quartz. It is a rare crystal found only in one location in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Angel Phantom Quartz is a specific inclusion of Quartz, with an outline from a smaller crystal that was growing inside, stopped growing, and then started again, leaving an impression, or a ghost, within the outer crystal layer. It has wispy, wing-like inclusions which give the shape of angel's wings. Angels are a symbol of divinity, hope, and faith. This gemstone gets its name from the phantom inclusions.

The phantoms and inclusions within an Angel Phantom additionally contain Quartz, Limonite, Kaolinite and Hematite. Quartz has both piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties; the polarity of the Quartz crystal will change when it is either subjected to pressure or heat, as well as when held in the hand, the tip normally positive and receiving energy, will then change and then become negative, thus, emitting energy which will radiate from the tip or from the edge.
