Harlequin Quartz is also called Red Hematoid Quartz or Fire Quartz by some. It is a variety of Quartz containing within it, small inclusions of mainly Hematite, as well as Lepidocrocite and Titanium. These appear as small bright red dots and veins within the crystal structure. While Quartz is the most abundant mineral on earth, Harlequin Quartz is not all that common and can be considered more rare.
